Freedom ~ a novel

Having just returned to American soil from the desert sands of the Middle East, James Greene is done with his life. 'Double amputee' doesn't seem like a strong enough phrase to label the physical and emotional pain he bears. Add the lack of love and communication with his family members, the demons that haunt him day and night, and he can find nothing worth living for. Ending it all is the only way out.

Alexandria Lorance is a not-so-ordinary physical therapist, content with aiding in her patients' recoveries. Her work gives her fulfillment, but alone in the silence, she still endures the hidden scars of a past, unhealthy relationship. Reminding herself that true healing is found in Christ alone, she seeks to show kindness and love to everyone she meets.

When these two broken ones' paths intersect, the spark of friendship is ignited, bringing hope and joy to both. Can they step out of the darkness of suffering and into the freedom of grace?

A Marine, broken by war. A therapist, scarred by words. A chance meeting in a parking lot bonded them together. But can love grow in these two hurting hearts? Or are they truly too broken to ever find lasting happiness?

Dandelion Dust ~ a novella

Like a speck of dandelion dust riding the tides of a prairie wind, life is fleeting. Though I never realized just how fragile it was until that day . . .
Charity always had a dream. It was simple, really. Find a guy, fall in love, and get married.
The day she met Ryder, Charity knew he was the man God had chosen for her. But she never expected their relationship to be tested and tried through the fires of a freak accident. Suddenly, her world is thrown into chaos, and the bleak, white walls and sterile smells of a city hospital fill every spare minute. And then there comes the dreaded news. It was likely Ryder would never make it out of the hospital bed.
As her carefully laid plans for the future come crashing down around her and the sun seems to set on her dreams, can Charity still find hope in the dark of night?
Like a dandelion, life is beautiful. But treasure every moment. . . . for one day, the flower will be gone.

  1. Can I just say the cover of this is beautiful. I love it. Your book looks really amazing. I've heard about over the blogosphere and plan to check it out in the near future. I have a few books I just bought and want to read up first. But I will be adding your book to my TBR.

  2. Hello, Faith! Unfortunately, it seems like the comments section on the writing challenge is in fact being picky now. I can see your comments on my end, but not on my blog. I wanted to come here and congratulate you on finishing your novel. I'm so excited for you!! Great job and thank you for participating. I may try to do a summer challenge when people are on break or have less activities to do.

    6. If you ever feel uncomfortable with my questions, just tell me :) Read a bit of Love has No Words on "The Stories" part of the blog. You are an AMAZING writer!!!! Love the way you literally write the characters as if they are real and like I am watching the scene. :) !!!!!!!

    7. Lulu is a self-publishing site. I'm not sure how familiar you are with that, but it basically means that the author does all the work. If there are any typos in my books, it's because myself, my critique partner, and my teams of beta-readers missed them. :)

Lulu is pretty much just the printing company. They don't review or edit the book in any way. They just print copies, sell them through their site, and I make revenue/commission from those sales. :)

  5. Faith, I fairly quickly finished Love Needs No Words last night after I was done with homework for the night. I LOVED it. You are a really good writer! And The story.... the emotion put into it was just so well put in. Five Star quality. I liked how you focused on mostly the 2 Characters, and set up a good plot, that wasn't all over the place. Also, I'm a North Carolinian so I found it cool you set the setting in North Carolina. It was a easy but good read. I could go on and on on how much I loved the book, but I think / hope I get the point with this comment. Keep writing well, Faith!
