Firefly's Readathons

Since the one in June went over so well, I'm hoping to host a readathon every few months. Spend a weekend of every quarter in a book!

What

A readathon is basically a challenge to read a set number of books or pages in a certain time frame. (For example, I could challenge myself to read 4 books in 48 hours, or 1,500 pages in 5 days, etc.) Think—cramming as much reading as you can into a certain time period!

When

The Fall readathon beginnings at 12:00 AM on Friday, September 14th and closes at 12:00 AM on Monday, September 17th. 72 hours of books, books, books!!

I'm considering doing another the last weekend of December. Might be fun to cram in as many books as we can before the new year arrives!

Goals

My goal is to read 600 pages during the 72 hour span. Are you up for the same? What is your goal is (in books finished or pages read)? Decide on a goal that best fits your schedule and reading style!

Comment below, message me on Goodreads, or email me (hischosenfirefly@gmail.com) to let me know, and I'll add you to the list, along with your goal. :D

Participants

Ryana Lynn ~ 3 books

Brooklyne ~ 468 pages

RebekahAshleigh ~ 350 pages

Katja L. ~ as much as possible

  2. I'd love to participate! I'm going to put my goal at just one book, because I really want to get this book done and I think that's the perfect opportunity! (and I have an event during the time span <.<) I'm excited! :D

  3. Hhmm...I'm telling myself to be realistic about this.
I think I'm going to try to read three books. One YA book and two American Girl Books, Which are generally small.
I'm excited! Hopefully this works! Thanks for hosting this!

(I was thinking about reading a Penderwicks book, but I don't think I want to "rush" through it when I only have 2 more to read. *Cries*)

  8. I'd love to join!! I haven't much reading time right now so I'm going to say 1 whole book, finishing my current read (I'm only 24% in) and then one little book. If I can do more, I will, and let you know here in the comments and on IG. My sister Annalissa says she will try to do 2 - 4 books. :) I hope you do another Readathon—maybe in the summer, when I have more spare time. ;) Or maybe I can do my own IG Readathon!

  10. How did everyone do with the readathon?! :D

I ended up closing out with only 580 pages, but...I'm okay with that. ;) Including Friday, I read 818 pages over 3 days though. :D

    1. I did it! I finished my first book around 10 or 11 AM Saturday, the second (my former CR) around 9:30 PM Saturday, and my third around 2:50 PM Sunday. I was able to read a fourth too, which I finished around 8:40 PM. My sister read her four books too. :)

  13. I know I'm answering the question late...
But, I read the 2 American Girl book, and I started the YA book but got a little over 100 pages into it and just couldn't finish it.(That book was 300 pages) Then I switched to a book that had 210 pages, and read it in basically one sitting, but when the clock hit 12, I was at page 175. So, I don't know what to count that as.

    1. You're alright. ;)
Nice job! I would count that second one as a book finished, since you had the 100 pages from the other. :D

  15. I'll join in the Fall Readathon! I think I'll just say “whatever I can do though”—life is so busy. Is that OK?
