Well, I'm back. :)
After four glorious days filled with lounging in a hammock, reading books, wading in the creek, hanging out with family and friends, riding my bike, sharing laughs, and having a down-right wonderful time, real life is creeping back in.
While away I read/finished three more books towards my goal of 101 (putting me several books ahead at 71!!) and I wrote nearly 800 words which included starting a new short story. (Which y'all may or may not get to see sometime in the distant horizon.)
But...I came back home to... 184 new emails, a duffel bag full and several loads of laundry to put away, and a severe campground-hangover.
I also spent the majority of the day doing...well, nothing accomplishing-feeling. Aside from unpacking, I saw a sweet video, sorted through some research notes, and wrote...a little.
Okay, this post is already much longer than I intended for it to be. So here's my point. I'm dreading this return to real life, I don't like how fast June is flying by, and the one year blogiversary post will be up tomorrow.
If you actually got this far, you're a dear. Thanks for reading and I'll be back soon. ;P
>Faith
P.S. I left home Monday with about 5 insect bites and came home with 43 (as of last night's count). Is this normal?
I’m glad that you had such a fun trip, Faith! :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was very fun and relaxing. :)
I know what you mean about a reluctant return. I felt the same way when we came back from the Oregon coast. ;)
43 insect bites?! Wow! That’s a lot. I don’t know how normal that is, but I guess you would probably get a lot camping. But I never would’ve thought that many! ;)
I’m looking forward to tomorrows post! :D
Thank you so much, Rebekah! :)
DeleteAh, yes. It's such a strange feeling. Return to the world of Internet friends and the like, or stay in paradise? ;)
Yeah...it is quite a lot. :P I've had many bug bites before, but other than a time or two when I had chiggers I've never had this many. ;)
Thanks for commenting!! ;-)
Welcome back, and I'm glad you had such a great time! Though I'm sorry it's hard to get back in the groove of "normal life". Take some time to just breathe and accomplish the "to-do" list slowly! :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you, reading so much! What books did you read? :)
But bummer about the bug bites - eek! 'Tis a lot. :P
Thanks, Raechel! Yes, we had a truly lovely time. :) Ahh, yes, slow is the way to go. ;)
DeleteJust reading for the pure joy of it was, ahhh, da best. ;) I finished "The Hobbit" on the way there. Then I read "Winds of Autumn" by Janette Oke, "Heaven's Jubilee" by Faith Blum, and started "The Innocent" by Willowy Whisper. ;-)
Augh. Yes, they are quite horrid. *nod nod*
Thank you for your sweet comment! :D
:)
DeleteAmen! I just read a couple short stories "just because" (not required to review!!) and it felt soooo good. ^.^ Nice! I've read "The Hobbit" (a couple years ago), and I want to read "Heaven's Jubilee" (though I have read her cat story in it already, which I loved. :)) Books are so lovely!
:)
Yes, it certainly does feel nice to just read to be reading. :-) Heaven's Jubilee was great (my review of it is on my other blog: http://chosenbythepotter.blogspot.com/2016/06/heaven-jubilee-by-faith-blum-book-review.html) and the cat story was really cute. ;)
DeleteGreat review! And I'm enjoying catching up on the posts on that blog, too :D
DeleteHehe ^.^
Glad to hear! :D
DeleteWAIT YOU WENT CAMPING. *fanboys* I love camping! We're going in July so that's exciting. :) :) Looking forwards to the blogiversary post! :D
ReplyDelete(also yes totally normal XD)
*snickers* Fanboy? Nice one. XD Ahhh, yes – camping is AMAZING. Ooo, cool. We're going again in August for my birthday. :-)
Delete(Eh. Okay. ;))

Mosquitoes. The ONE drawback of summer. Oh, that and bee stings. (I can hardly talk since I'm one of the lucky few who has never been stung by a bee in my life...however.)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a fun time camping DESPITE the mosquitoes. (Ha!) And welcome back. ;)
Yes. They. Are. So. Horrid. Thankfully, most of my bites weren't/aren't mosquitos (lots of flies and gnats). You've NEVER been bee stung??!? Wow. Consider yourself lucky. Maybe bees aren't as common in WA as they are here. ;P I've been stung 4 or 5 times, none were fun. My dad and brother are both allergic to bee stings (as in, it could and has resulted in an ER visit) so, yeah, we don't like bees. :P
DeleteThanks Rebekah! And I enjoyed your comment. :-)
Mosquitoes. Huh. Wait a sec and let me find that quote I used. Oh right, here it is :P The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose...but mosquitoes come close :P
ReplyDeleteOh, the blogiversary! I read it last week...so awesome! I'm heading over there now to comment! :D
Hahahaha!! That's so funny!! XD I think I remember seeing it on your Quotes tag. ;)
DeleteGlad you enjoyed! Haha, and I'm following you to reply. :P Thanks for commenting!
