12 Days of Christmas // Beyond the Horizon Book Review + Blog Tour

Hello everyone, and welcome to day three!! How exciting!! :D We've already been having sooo many good posts, and I'm looking forward to more. :)

Today my sweet friend Jesseca is releasing a new book! A beautiful Christmas story, a Cinderella retelling, set in WWII...could it get much better than that?! :D Let me tell you a little more about this lovely novella...

About the Book:

Eliana longs to see the world beyond the mountains that tower above Salzburg, Austria, but knows that dream will never see such adventure- and neither will she.
Surrounded by a world of cruelty, she l
ives for the weekly visits of Aron, a boy she met on one of her rambles through the countryside.
But as the years pass and she begins to grow older, a new and unwelcome world is opened up to her.
On a fateful night at a party she vowed she’d never attend, she comes face to face with a shocking truth.
As the world around her teeters on the brink of war, Eliana struggles to figure out just where her loyalty lies; a decision that will drastically change the course of her life. Will she ever be free to see what lies beyond the horizon?

My Review:

5 of 5 stars

*happy sigh* Ahhh, I just love this book so much. It's a lovely story and a Christmas story (so already a "yes, please!"). But then you add a Cinderella retelling (I love fairytale retellings, y'all...) and set the whole thing in Austria at the beginning of WWII? Was this book written for me, or what?!

I had the opportunity to beta-read for Miss Wheaton and I really enjoyed Eliana's story. She, along with Aron and Wilhelm (just...<3), were my favorite characters. The lovely setting, the secrets revealed, the sweet fairytale-feel... Ahh, I just loved this story so much!! If I had to pick a favorite book by this author, it would be a close match between Beyond the Horizon and A Question of Honor. :)

Beautiful story!! Definitely one I recommend!! <3

About the Author:

Jesseca is an 18-year old daughter, sister, and a child of God. Her days are spent reading, cooking, spending time with siblings, or playing piano.  And writing, of course! At an early age words fascinated her, and her love for the printed page has only grown. She lives with her parents and seven siblings in the sunny state of Kansas, and she’s convinced there’s no place like home.
