--from the back of the DVD box :)
If you have not seen this movie, you did not have a childhood. At my house, it's a tradition. Every Christmas (though it is possible we've missed one, I suppose) we watch Charlie Brown. And I love it. :)
And you know what? That's what Christmas really is all about. Ask Linus, he'll tell you. :)
I should start by saying, that this cartoon is so quotable. (Is that a word? *looks it up* Yes, it is. *smiles*) I mean, seriously? It's SO funny and there's so many things from it that I will repeat! :) Listed below are some of my favorites. I found pictures to go with most of them. ;)
"That beautiful sound of cold hard cash. That beautiful sound of clanking nickels."
I love when Lucy tells Charlie Brown what she wants for Christmas :)
Lucy: "I know how you feel, Charlie Brown. I never get what I really want. I always get toys or a bicycle or something."
Charlie Brown: "What do you want?"
Lucy: "Real estate."
--The Christmas Play--
Director: Charlie Brown
"Am I right? I said, am I right?!" (I couldn't find a picture for this one.)
Lucy: "Pigpen, you're the innkeeper."
Pig-pen: "In spite of my outward appearance I shall try to do the part justice."
"All this dust. It's taking the curl out of my naturally curly hair."
Snoopy after kissing Lucy. Meanwhile she wails, "Get hot water! Get some disinfectant! Get some iodine!"
Linus: "I shouldn't be put through such agony!"
Because he's the best! *shoots glare to a certain person who seems to think there can't be more than one 'best'* You know who you are. B-)
"If you really thought I was beautiful you would've spoken up right away. I know when I've been insulted! I know when I've been insulted!"
"Beside I think it needs me."
Linus: "This really brings Christmas close to a person."
Charlie Brown: "Fantastic."
Charlie Brown: "Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?!"
Linus: "I can tell you what Christmas is about, Charlie Brown."
When Linus wraps the tree with his blanket. :)
"I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It's not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love."
Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!

Okay, I'm going to admit something that will probably shock you horribly. . . I have never in my life watched Charlie Brown! :P Sorry, 'bout that, but my family's never really watched anything Charlie Brown, not too sure why but yeah. . . XD
ReplyDeleteBut the review you did does make me want to watch it!! :D Looks like a really fun movie! :)
Ooohh, carolling! That sounds like so much fun! Where will you be carolling? :D
WHAT???? :-O No, I'm kidding. I know several people who're so underprivileged to have not seen Charlie Brown. B-) (Yes, I'm kidding you again...)
DeleteIt IS a fun, cute, sweet, meaningful movie! :) You so should watch it sometime.
Yes, we had so much fun caroling last night! We piled into the back of a truck on a bunch of hay bales and rode around the community. :) It was really cold (finally!!! It's supposed to be at Christmas! xD) so afterwards we went back to the church and had hot dogs, hot cocoa, coffee, and sweets. :)
The first time I saw "A Charlie Brown Christmas" was last year. :)
ReplyDeleteI liked it, it was really fun. I'll have to watch it again sometime before this Christmas. ;)
Have fun Christmas caroling tonight!
Isn't it a sweet lil' show? ;) Have you seen "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving"?
DeleteThanks, Rebekah! We had a fun, good (cold!) time! :D
Yes, I think I have seen "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, but not for a long time. :)
DeleteI'm glad you had a fun time last night. : )
I hadn't seen it in a long time, but we watched it this past Thanksgiving. :)
DeleteI HAVE!!! Watched Charlie Brown's Christmas I mean. :) I would love to watch it again. It always makes me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Charlie Brown fan-club, Rebekah! LOL. I'm kidding. :) It makes me smile too. Linus and Schroeder are my favorites. ;)
DeleteI've watched it too. Way to many times. It's my siblings favorite movie and honestly I've seen it so many times I've gotten tired of it!
ReplyDeleteBut it is a sweet movie and it does tell the true meaning of Christmas. :) I did enjoy it the first few times we watched it!! :D
Have fun Christmas Caroling!!!! I love caroling! ;)
And it's definitely a good thing all your "bests" are fictional! B-)
DeleteHehehe, I know how that is. :) Whatever Tucker's favorite movie/show is at the moment is usually playing on repeat... :-/
DeleteIt really does, doesn't it? Since we usually only watch it this time of year, I'm not tired of it...yet. ;)
We did!! Thanks so much! :D
Yeah...definitely a good thing... Until this girl I know writes this story where they all come to life... B-)
DeleteChristmas is here! Except ... it's not. But a certain character may have to spend it in a German POW camp, far from home. But who is this character? It's the question we're all asking. Only a certain post will tell us!
ReplyDeleteChristmas, yay!!! Wait...isn't it a little warm for Christmas?
DeleteAwww, that's sad. Poor guy...whoever he is. B-) If a certain young writer's Dad would figure out what time is hair appointment is on his own and wouldn't call her, she could be much more efficient at such things...
Hair appointments can be important ... Don't worry, we'll keep up the encouraging reminders. ;)
