Racing for Time // Book Review

Good morning everyone! I know, I know. I said yesterday that you wouldn't be getting this post until Friday but...slight change of plans within the blog tour participants. ;) So you're getting to read my review of this book a day sooner! :D

About the Book:
After a frightening car crash that lands Janefer and her best friend Melanie in the hospital, Janefer is set on bringing the culprit to justice. When Melanie is found to be missing, Janefer is even more determined to discover the person behind it all.

Through a maze of lies and deceit, spiritual questions arise, leaving her confused and troubled. As Janeferraces to gather clues leading to Melanie, she gradually learns to trust God with her life, no matter what the outcome.

Can Janefer find out the truth before Melanie is hurt--or worse?

Time is ticking.

My Review:

Racing for Time was a suspenseful story that kept me guessing -- with plot twists and danger at every turn!

Janefer was a fun main character -- if a bit strong-willed (not that that's necessarily a bad trait in a character ;)). I didn't always understand her motives to do some things, but her concern for Melanie (her friend) and her well-being was evident.

I found the mystery to be well-done, with suspicions of several characters. I ended up guessing most of it before the ending, but not all. ;)

**minor spoilers here** The storyline of Janefer's dad threw me off at times, because it didn't feel very consistent. Sometimes she was overly concerned and going to see him, but other times it was almost as if that part of the story got forgotten. The ending though... *sniffles*

To sum it up, this is a good book by a promising teen author. I'll certainly be on the lookout for other books by Miss Nickerson in the future :)
